HI eveyryone, I don't post all that often, but I do keep up with all
that's going on. I really liked the idea of FML dues, and sent $3.00 to
SOS last week to make up for January and February.
I'm really writing today b/c even though I know insulinoma is common
in ferrets, I've never had to deal with it, or anything major for that
matter, and now I am. I've had ferrets since 1999. My 3 year anniversary
is this October. I adopted 2 boys back then. Now Pikachu, my albino guy
is on Pred 2x a day. His BG on Saturday was 57. I was able to sustain
him for almost a year on chicken gravy and baby food back when he was just
borderline for insulinoma, but not anymore. He goes back to the vet on
Saturday to see what his BG level is after a week on the Pred. I've read
alot about insulinoma - I'm the one who figured out he might have it to
begin with - but I'm still don't know what to expect. I'm nervous and
worried about him and in general. Of my 3 ferrets Pikachu is the first
one to get sick.
I guess I'm really just writing about him b/c it makes me feel better
knowing people who read this will understand how I'm feeling b/c they have
been there before. I don't have anyone around me that really understands.
My boyfriend does, to a certain extent, but even though getting ferrets
was his idea, they aren't his passion and obsession, like they became
for me. Anyway, I guess I just hate not knowing, and I fear the
unknow/unexpected.
Thanks for reading, and if anyone has stories/opinions/or whatever, please
feel free to email me.
