I have a problem. I have just discovered that my hedgehog has mites. I
gave her a bath, but this did not help. I will try olive oil and then get
her to the vet. The other problem is I have four ferrets and I wonder if
they have them as well? They recently received baths and I checked them
for fleas, which they had none. Now I am wondering if any itching I see
is caused by mites? I also have birds. Can the mites from the hedgehog
jump over to my other pets? What is a safe treatment? Do the mites cause
long term effects? What about me?

Any and all information will be helpful.
