Hi Everyone!
Thanks for your support and advice when I was upset after
Antigone and Minima were diagnosed as having adrenal tumors.
I took them to a second vet who said that without further testing,
it's impossible to tell what ails them based only on urinalysis.
Since neither of them are actually sick, and I can't afford
either the surgery or the bloodwork/Xrays/etc to test for tumors,
I decided to try diet improvement stuff to see if their coats
got better. The vet suggested adding zinc to their diet, so
I did. Amazingly...
Antigone has FUR again around her tail! Within a week of getting
the zinc added to her diet, she had a noticeable amount of brownish
fur growing in, especially just above her tail, but also all over
her body. Her new brown guard hairs give her a distinctly beige
sheen, which I've never seen on her before.
Unrelatedly, she has lost the extra weight she was carrying
around and seems to be more active. She's turned into a lean,
(not at all) mean, brown fur machine! :)
No sign of change yet on Minima, but the vet also suggested
chopped (raw) beef liver or pork heart as the best nutritional
supplement. Unfortunately, my two won't eat stuff like that.
Any ideas? (I already tried coating it with linatone - didn't work)
