Hi All,
You might have noticed from the signature of a couple of my posts that 2
new names have been added. Wolfin (a big sable) and Bailey (a big
cinnamon) have come to their new forever homes. We took Salem, Bandit and
Faye over to Julianna's (Ferret Business of GA) to pick out a friend. We
took Benita's advice (we were going to adopt one of the Dunwoody ferrets).
Since they weren't available and we had already planned to adopt one why
not take one (or in this case two) from the shelter. Everybody is getting
along great from the start. It was so funny trying to get them all home.
Julianna gave me an extra carrier and we put Bailey and Wolfin in it.
Salem climbed right in with them to ride home. I guess because he's a big
guy he wanted to ride with the other big guys. But don't let size fool
you. Faye, our deaf and small Silvermitt, still rules the roost. Wolfin
got a good scolding from her for trying to get into HER sleepy sack. This
was hilarious to watch. First Wolfin is sniffing around the sack (unaware
of Faye being inside). He then finds the entrance and proceeds to enter.
As he's about 3/4 the way in with his rump in the air when suddenly from
the depths of the sleepy sack comes a scream from Hell! Wolfin was trying
so hard to back out of the sack. Finally he bounces out on his bottom and
out comes a white head still yelling like a demon. I've never seen a
ferret that big go through a hole to the next level of the cage so fast!
Faye looked around like, "anybody else wanna try it!!??" and went back in
to finish her beauty nap.
Otherwise they are all getting along great from the start, even with
Pyewacket. I found Bailey nuzzling with him. Now I can say we truly
have a bussyness of ferrets.
Dooks,
Hawk & Patrick,
Salem, Faye, Bandit, Wolfin and Bailey the ferts
Pyewacket the cat
and Smokey the African Grey
Blessings to all animals great and small and those of us who love and
adore them.
