I don't normally get involved in the little squabbles that constantly go
on on the FML, but this one really is going too far. Amanda has stated
that her husband FEELS hostile towards Monty, and that her 18 MONTH OLD
son had picked up on his father's hostile feelings and words & tried to
stomp on the ferret. She then has tried various things to improve the
situation & make a good life for Monty possible.
From these posts, I've seen responses about her husband being violent
(where did that come from???), and even worse now, about her son being
possibly abused & having mental problems!!! COME ON PEOPLE! Get things
into perspective! An 18 month old child does not need mental problems &
abuse to try & step on an animal! They have to be taught how to treat
animals. At that young of an age they don't yet even understand that
biting/hitting/kicking/etc.,etc.,etc. people can hurt the other person;
why would they automatically be expected to understand that they can hurt
an animal? They are still learning & have to be trained to respect
animals & need constant close supervision.
Amanda's situation may not be perfect at the moment, but PLEASE, let's
stop blowing it way out of proportion!!!
