I suggest that you do some reading up on adrenal gland disease in ferrets.
The symptoms you describe sound like typical adrenaloma symptoms to me.
Go to http://www.miamiferret.org they have a good bit of info on adrenals,
also http://www.bradleyhills.com.  The Bradley Hills site belongs to Dr.
Charles Weiss who probably knows more about treating adrenal disease than
anyone.
