First of all, My apologies to anyone who was offended by my reference to
a " Muslim who Blasphemed his....". This was not intended to insult
Muslims, nor do I feel it does. It pointed the finger at one individual,
not many. Let me now rephrase that to say" a group of people who took it
too far and blasphemed their God by committing a horrible act in the name
of their God" I am not a hateful person and have many friends who are
Muslims. Furthermore, Sharin, I do not need you to apology for my words
or actions, thank you.

To the anonymous poster who is afraid to show their face in public. You
are right, they do become paid employees, and if could read further in my
post, before jumping all over me and trying to impress folks with your
lack of my state tax laws, you will see, that I mentioned that they can
only earn up to $600 a year with me that way. I do send them a 1099 each
year and I do claim them as casual labor each year, and I don't have to
do any deductions like taxes, workmen's comp, or unemployment unless they
earn over $600 bucks. Yes, the cages and all donated property is property
of the corporation and I do charge sales tax when reselling anything that
belongs to the corporations at retail. Next time you insinuate someone
doing wrong, I suggest you do your homework before putting your foot in
your mouth. I don't always give 10% to every "volunteer" Only those who
are unemployed or for some good reason, need financial help. Being a
larger than you imagine shelter. There are many times that I have to pay
casual labor between $7 and $10 an hour to come in and get all the work
done that needs to be done every day. Splitting sales and offering
commissions is a much less expensive way of getting the job done. Most of
my "workers" are high school kids doing chores here after school or during
the summer. Their parents and my community appreciate the fact that they
are here and not out getting into trouble. As for all my critics that
think I'm insensitive about the loss of life and loss of family members in
this aforementioned tragedy. You don't have a clue. I have cried as much
as anyone just watching this on t.v. and in my own generation have served
in Vietnam where 55,000 Americans died so that others could be free. My
family and scores of volunteers have worked really hard to keep Especially
Ferrets alive and serving any one with ferret needs and sometimes personal
needs. You can bet I am going to take it personal when this or any thing
I have worked for is suffering due to someone else's actions. I fought
for your right to speak freely and respect your right to disagree with
what I have to say. My wife Gloria, who still works 20 hours a day in the
shelter just retired from the military after 22 years of honorable and
loyal service, and may yet be called back for duty, to defend your rights.
In the nam, I watched kids dying younger than you, for your rights, so
please don't give me your high and mighty crap about how insensitive and
selfish and inconsiderate I am! You don't even have a clue to who or what
I am. I have dedicated my life and all my resources and even right now
have my house on the market for sale, so I can continue to do what I love
to do....save and rescue ferrets. How many of you would sell your house
for your ferrets??? Yeah, that what I thought! In all the years we have
been saving ferrets, we have put over $200,000 of our own money and all
the we have raised as a shelter into this operation, which would total
over another $200,000. Do you know anyone else who has done this? I put
my money and my heart where my mouth is and I can only think of a few
others who are willing to do the same. They certainly aren't the ones
giving me grief. Just so all know. My posts were meant to turn
everyone's heads and donations in the directions of shelters, be they
ferret shelters or battered people shelters. The people of NY are strong
and getting lots of support and prayers including mine. I never imagined
there were so many narrow minded people who would pick me apart for trying
to help others....people and ferrets. Big, I apologize to anyone,
including all Muslims, if I have insulted, degraded, belittled, harassed,
cheated, or been hateful to. It was not my intention to nor will it ever
be to do so.

Humbly thankful,
Ferretguy
