I am pleased to announce that Alicia Drakiotes of Ferretwise will be a
speaker at the International Ferret Symposium in Las Vegas, Feb 1-3, 2002.
Alicia will be part of a panel discussion on Saturday morning on large
scale rescues and cruelty issues. Randy Belair and Troy Lynn Eckart will
talk about the large scale rescues they were involved with (in London,
Ontario and Layton, Utah, respectively), and then Alicia will give us tips
on how best to work with humane societies and other local authorities when
faced with these types of situations. There will be time for Q&A with all
3 speakers.

On a less happy note, Dr Charlie Weiss will be unable to attend the
Symposium. The demands of his new practice are keeping him busy 7 days a
week, 12 hours a day, and he does not feel he can afford the time away.

For more information on the Symposium and registration forms, see
