i don't get out to ctc too often yep, a fellow portlander), but i was there
about a month ago and there were 5 -7 baby fuzzies all in tact, going for
$59.99.  looks like the guy you saw is the last o' that group.  i instantly
fell in love with all o' them and would have scooped them all up and took
them home, if i didn't already have a robust group o' 7.
 
i try to avoid scamps at all costs, as it depressed me.  but, if i find
that i am near one...i will check to make sure there is water, food, and a
clean cage.  i am not generally vocal about much, but when it comes to
ferrets with no water and poopy cages...i get quite vociferous.
