Hello to all of you on the FML!! I'm a first time writer and have only
been on the FML for about a week!!

I have a question about my fert, Poli (Like Roli-Poli, not Poly like a
bird). I have had Poli for almost three years and for about the last 2,
he has had a condition that makes him lose hair and itch and scratch alot.
I have taken him to 3 different vets here (Owensboro, KY) and none have an
inkling as what it "could" be. none of the vets here know about ferrets
or really even show in interest in them. Poli has pretty much all his
lymph nodes swoolen esp. the ones in his armpits and and behind his rear
legs, but also on his neck. He goes through phases of losing hair on his
tail, his sides, and also gets orange and/or brown spots all over him. He
chews constantly at himself. My vet has tried Prednisone, Ivermectin, and
even various shampoos, but only offered very short term relief. Poli
hasn't changed health wise. He's very playful, eats great, poop's normal,
drinks and breaths fine. I don't think his condition effects he's overall
being, but I don't want it to be something that I "let go for a while" and
see what happens, and then it turns up being an emergency.

I have looked at various books, websites, magazines, and even vet. books,
but I haven't found anything that comes close to this condition. If any
one has any advise, please share it with us.

Julie, Poli and Spike
