I am happy to annouce, after months of waiting, that Ferrets R #1 Shelter
& Rescue in Northern Virginia is now a 501(c)3 organization.  Whew -
thought it would never come.
 
I want to thank Lisa Leidig for her help and sharing her answers to the
IRS questions.  I also want to thank Donald Walsh for preparing the
paperwork for me, since I just never seemed to get the time to sit down
and was intimidated when I did.
 
We have loads of ferrets - took in 10 so far this week.  Four of those ten
was from it's owner being killed on Sept. 11th.  Luckily a friend of her
brothers took the ferrets temporarily and searched for a non-kill rescue.
 
Now I can get busy fundraising and putting this ruling to work.
