All,
I rarely post, but felt a need to today. Thank you to Gen for trying to
clear up some misconceptions of what happened with the Utah ferret group
that ended up in Florida. I am fortunate enough to live just miles from
the shelter that took in this group of wonderful ferrets. I also was
involved with pulling supplies together in anticipation of the arrival of
the critters, which included gathering ADV tests. All precautions were
taken on the shelters end and a game plan had been established on how we
could get them all tested immediately. This possible exposure is because
of a possible misunderstanding of what ADV is and its severity or even
possible selfishness. Either one is unacceptable. So, please everyone,
before passing any judgment, find out the facts. And you know, harsh
words sure don't help the situation as much as donations of standard
ferret supplies would! How many people out there could do what this
shelter is doing, so willingly and unselfishly!

Wanted to let everyone know what a loving group of ferrets these are. I
spent 7 hours at the shelter yesterday doing the normal tasks of ferret
ownership such as litter pans, water bottles, filling food bowls, and
providing soup to those that needed it, and just having fun with them.
What a loving group of ferrets these are. I have never seen so many
ferrets that were kissers. You can really tell that they are so
appreciative of the good care they are receiving now and that they have
been starved for attention in the past. They are such a loving group and
seem to love the attention. Several rounds of play time and what joy it
is to see them dancing around. What makes you smile more than a little
guy who was so sick upon arrival raising 10 kinds of you know what to get
out yesterday. Big smiles!

Remember, its all for the ferrets!
