I've noticed, with every case, that an insulinoma ferret will have an
unusual odor.  It ranges from maple syrup sweet to a kind of uriney smell.
It's one of my first detections in rescueing ferrets.
 
Inola smells like a corn chip!  Except when she poofs!  She doesn't have
insulinoma.
