Fuzztek Central has been operating on a very limited basis for the past 6
months. We have changed our guidelines for intake, and currently only
accept ferrets from other shelters and in emergency situations. Obviously
right now we have a national emergency.

The ASPCA in NYC has my name as the contact for any ferrets needing
temporary or permanent placement due to Tuesdays attack. If you are aware
of any ferrets who are temporarily displaced, or now potentially ownerless
due to this devastation, please contact me. Of course any ferrets turned
in that are owned by missing people will be kept in shelter until all
potential survivors are accounted for, and all boarding fees will be
waived for displaced ferrets.

Additionally, please continue to support your local shelters. Our
government is expecting to call up to 50,000 reservists to active duty.
These are your next door neighbors and coworkers. Many will be forced to
leave their animals behind. I expect ferret shelters to receive a fairly
large number of turn-ins or long term boardings over the next year or
more. There will also be a significant number of ferrets needing new
homes or long term boarding who are owned by active duty armed forces
that are deployed to places that their animals can't accompany them.

We will get through this.
