The 220 ferrets in Layton, Utah, will be picked up by Saturday and begin
their journeys in four different directions. The shelter operators who
will take them have already begun work on placing them in other shelters
and in permanent homes.
Because of the time crunch, and because it is impossible to ship supplies
by air in time, the entire expense will be borne by the people doing the
driving and taking the ferrets in. The ferrets come with no cages, no
dishes, no bedding and no food. Large, air-conditioned vehicles will have
to be rented for so few people to transport so many animals. Just the
transportation will be very expensive, and then medical supplies, vet
care, and basic needs will add greatly to the cost.
One kind person has already donated $250 for ADV tests for one group of
the ferrets. Other than that, we have not heard from anyone so far.
Please consider donating to help this large group of homeless fur kids,
many of whom have medical needs.
The ferret lovers of the FML came through spectacularly to meet almost
$6,000 in vet bills for the 103 NJ Xmas Rescue ferrets in January. (The
vets were certainly surprised and grateful for your response!) Please
think of the ferrets, and help the people who are sacrificing time and
money to get them to homes where they will have plenty of attention and
room to run.
Checks should be made out to Support Our Shelters and sent to:

Thank you for coming through for the ferrets!
