Valerie-
If you can't afford to pay an adoption fee, then please think twice about
getting a ferret as a pet. They are notorious for having expensive medical
needs. On average over a lifetime you can expect to pay several hundred
dollars a year in medical bills. Regretfully they always seem to come when
you least can afford it, and in increments of several hundred, or even
thousand dollars. If you can't afford the less than $100 that a shelter
charges, than you might want to think about what you will do when your
ferret needs a $600 sirgery to save it's life. If you don't have that
kind of funds, than please do not choose a ferret as a pet.
Thanks.
