Hi everyone,
This doesn't really have anything to do with any of the current
discussions, just something I have to work my nerves about: For the past
week or so, the classfieds in the local paper have been running an ad
offering a year-old ferret, asking "$100 or best offer." Nothing about
the little one going to a good or loving home. This really worries me.
It means that this little girl is going to whoever can offer the most
money, who may or may not take good care of her. It sounds like she's
a secondhand washing machine or something. You can bet that if it were
remotely practical for me to take on a third ferret I'd do it in a
second, but I lack both the space and the money, not to mention I'm
still recovering from an appendectomy. I don't really know what I'm
accomplishing by writing this, unless anyone on the list is in the
Berkshire County (MA) area and interested. Just something I had to voice
my alarm about.
Rachel and da wild (and priceless!) weaselinas
