[log in to unmask][log in to unmask], 6 Aug 2001 22:25:44 -0400583_- With the completion of the head skeleton, I've covered the bones of the
body. What I haven't covered is the dentition, skeletal differences
between ferrets and other mammals and why they exist, the stuff I've seen
in ferret skeletons and why it has importance to ferret owners, and photos.

Because what I will be showing photos requiring a basic understanding of
odontology, the part on dentition >for every little typo that goes out here. But in this case, no matter
what anyone says, I consider myself qualified to make this post....
and yes, it has to do with Matan. [...]48_18Jun200116:32:[log in to unmask] 0106 18432 32 17_Ferrets in [log in to unmask], 18 Jun 2001 03:32:09 -0700411_- >From: Sharon Wood <[log in to unmask]>

LOL. Great idea. I'll have to use that one the next time I go to the
mall.

I know that I don't post very often, but I have a question about the blue
line in my new ferret's ear. I had a lady call me about taking her two
ferrets that she no longer has time to take proper care of them.

Both according to the paper work that she brought with her are supposed to
be MF. The boy (a beautiful guy) has no ear markings, but the girl has a
line that looks like it was drawn with a fine blue ink pen. It follows a
ridge in her ear for about 3/8s [...]48_18Jun200114:01:[log in to unmask] 0106 18502 50 29_Re: Breeding responsibilities16_Troy Lynn [log in to unmask], 18 Jun 2001 10:36:39 -0500362_- I've been reading the posts from and to Matan and like many I am concerned.

If I was going to breed, these would be my requirements -

I would search the internet for information on ferret care and breeding

I would talk to ferret breeders for more information including possible
medical complications and what would need to be done [...]36_18Jun200110:36:[log in to unmask] 0106 18553 23 24_more on spaying/breeding12_Steve [log in to unmask], 18 Jun 2001 13:37:52 -0400514_- Matan wrote about how an animals basic need is to reproduce after food and
water. This is basic in all animals, the biological need to reproduce, it
is how a species insures its continuation.

The animal doesn't actually have any "feelings" about it, just biological/
hormone regulated drives- much different than desire or want. Once they
are fixed they will lose this drive, and not miss a thing. Of course, now
they can focus on playing, and getting into things, and such. [...]38_18Jun200113:37:[log in to unmask] 0106 18577 45 42_Dumb Questions = mean spirited individuals14_Ronald L. [log in to unmask], 18 Jun 2001 20:21:32 -0700617_- Dear Ardith:

In any organization there are a select few who seem to feel that they are
the only one(s) with the correct answers to ALL of life's questions and
problems. Forgive them, please, for they greatly exaggerate (sp?) their
self-importance to everyone else and therefore have aleinated others from
the FML. The last time I looked, not one was able to walk on wa

One of our ferrets is scratching/biting and pulling his hair out in about a
1/4th inch area of his body. It's to the point where the hair is totally
pulled out showing bare skin, red/blue/black spots on the skin. We had a
minor problem with fleas and minor it was. We treated all ferrets with
Advantage for the minor flea problem about two weeks ago. Am concerned
this problem could/may be early signs of adrenal disease, but am not sure.
The ferret is about three years (was a rescue). Am treating the area with
neosporin and an old medicine for ouchie wounds from too rough playing.
What do some of you think could be the problem? Please, email me a
response since I don't receive the FML, just am posting for support.

Thanks

Debbie
