Newspaper bedding from shredding printed newspapers is probably not a good
idea.  The ink rubs off on the ferrets' fur causing them to look like
dingy laundry.
 
You might try ironing the newspaper print before shredding to "set" the
ink, or buy "roll ends" from your local newspaper of unprinted news paper.
