:-) No flames from here because I know what ferrets are like at their
worst but I also know that they are only being ferrets and I accept that.
I also do more than just accept it, I work with them to correct the
problems. Sometimes this means the ferret changes and sometimes it means
that I change or just accept it.
I can't tell how many times I've grumbled around cleaning up those
forgotten corners (like behind the tv stand or bookcase) even considering
not cleaning them and maybe they'd mysteriously disappear (just a fleeting
thought). But then reason takes over and since I don't want those that
share my home to live with messes, I obediently clean them up, knowing
full well that it will be a mess again tomorrow or the next day.
Sometimes they are not messy for three days in a row!!!!
I jokingly told Nancy that this is most certainly my path in life because
no one else in their right mind would do it! ;-)
Yes, ferrets are messy, especially when they are frustrated and board but
when there are hard feelings coming from the caretaker, changes need to be
made. This is a very bad situation for both the ferret and the caretaker.
Behavioral problems are a sure clue that the ferret is frustrated or
upset.
Ferrets are very in-tune to our emotions and it certainly sounds like
'Anonymous' needs to find a good home for the ferrets, one that will make
time for them and accept their habits, good and bad. 'Anonymous', if
you'd like to contact me privately, if you are willing to work on it, I'd
be willing to try and help give you some tips to make life better for you
and your ferrets.
hugs to all. tle
