Personally, I would recommend that a blood draw ONLY be done by a trained
vet or vet tech.  Having been a paramedic, I can say that performing a
blood draw on a human can be difficult if they have a health problem, a
ferret would probably be several orders harder.  Also, blood breaks down
rapidly upon exposure to air, and must be taken into the lab within a
short period of time.
