I have owned many ferrets for many years and I've noticed new
(unusual/unwanted) behavior from one of mine, Pongo. He's 5 years old
and has insulinoma. He's been on pedia-pred for about nine months, .4cc.
In the last couple weeks he has decided that he likes chewing on things
(yes, I'm careful about the whole "blockage" thing). The real bad part of
this is his most favorite chew toy is Minnie (ferret) and I can tell you
that she is not happy about it at all. He really doesn't chew on her, he
wraps his paws around her, clinches down with his teech on the back of her
neck and just holds on for dear life. I have a heck of a time getting him
off of her. I didn't know if anyone has ever experienced this before or
if anyone thought that it might have something to do with insulinoma or
being on pedia-pred. Any ideas are certainly welcome.
Thank you.
