Don't know if you remember me or not, but with this hot breaking ferret
story about the collector in Layton, Utah and her 250 ferrets being
confiscated, my phone is ringing off the hook with out of state people
concerned and in some cases over reacting. Please post this and go ahead
and sign me up again, for the fml. I guess I am still in the ferret
business of educating and rescuing.

For the FML, this is the same lady who I wrote about on the fml a few
years back. Davis County Animal Control in Utah, telephone number is
(801) 444-2200 has finally gone in and put this lady out of the ferret
collecting business. She was never operating a shelter, In six years of
operating the United Ferret Organization, in all the county commission
battles, classes, public appearances, and just day to day business in
operating a ferret rescue, have never once met anyone who this lady has
adopted an ACTUAL FERRET TOO.

So please, do not pitty her, but the ferrets do need help. But the problem
is, she still has custody of the 250 ferrets and the county cannot release
them for adoption until she gives up custody, which as of tonight, she is
refusing, claiming that "THEY ALL BELONG TO HER". I don't know about you,
but that is not how a RESCUE is operated. No human, even if you have a
large "S" on your blue spandex jumper can manage 250 ferrets.

I will do my best to keep you all informed of what is going on, right now
the animal control is being very tight lipped about everything, but the
media has done a good job of covering it and alerting the public.

Thanks,
Rick Roller
United Ferret Organization
