getting a cat

We've had our two ferrets for a couple of years now, and are considering
adopting a cat. We were wondering if anyone had any advice in regards to
picking a cat so that it will get along with the ferrets as best as
possible. Is it better to go with a kitten and let it grow up around the
ferrets, or try to find an adult used to other animals? Thanks so much.
