Different ferret bodies

Dear JM, mommy of Mr. Ferret

Ferrets come in several body styles (much like people) and it appears you
have classic examples of 2 distinct body types. I have a pair of little
girls, born within a month of each other, in the spring of 2000. One is
pudgy and firm feeling, with a body length of 13 inches. The other feels
light as a feather, very flexible, and is 15 inches long in the body.
They eat the same food, play together, etc. The only difference is the
long lean one lives to escape her confines. If a toy she can use for a
springboard gets too close to the barrier, over she goes. The pudgy
ferret does not indulge in perfecting her leaping!

Does Mr. Ferret (the girl) feel bony? Although Cheyenne is longer and
lighter than her girl friends (none are related) she has a light coating
of fat over her ribs. She does not appear 'thin' to look at, just not
very big around.

Georgia - the left coast one...
