I was in the supermarket the other day and the topic of pets came up. The
cashier, when she heard I had a ferret, cringed and said "I heard that you
cant keep ferrets with other animals because they all carry diseases that
kill other animals. My grand-daughter had a cat and a ferret and the
ferret made the cat sick and killed it."

 ---my response ...HUH????

I told her that in no way was that at all true. And if ferrets are cared
for properly, they have no more problems than any other animals. Does
anyone even know of any diseases that all ferrets carry and kill other
animals?

The bagger was more knowledgeable (saw I was extremely aggrivated) and
tried to change the subject politely by saying "I have 2 dogs and a cat, I
love animals" I said then "Does your cat make your dogs sick" loud enough
for the cashier to hear. The bagger rolled her eyes and giggled.

This would not have ticked me off as much if she would have listened to
me tell her all of the impossibilities that she had just stated, and the
correct info (a 2 year old could grasp) She said "well I don't believe
you, that ferret killed that cat."

I hope that this moron can no longer herself breed. All we need is more
morons on this planet.

Pam
