Hi, Jessica--
 
My, yes, baby ferrets are in general much more vocal than adults.  I
remember the babyhood of my first ferret, Sylvester: when we put him in
his cage and left the room he was in, he screamed.  Pooky was almost
certainly communicating his displeasure at being left alone!
