We have two 4 year old female ferrets who are littermates and have always
been together. Except for a small number of ferret events and some trips to
the "babysitter" who also takes care of other ferrets, they have had little
contact with other ferrets. We are thinking of getting a new kit. How long
an adjustment period can we anticipate before they can be housed in the
same cage without supervision? If we acquire a ferret right after the
Thanksgiving weekend (the other major traveling event) would there be enough
time for them to adjust to each other before we have to travel with them
during the Christmas holidays? We only have room in the car for a single cage.
