I finally got my ferret. Bailey, he is a male, sable and now about 12-13
weeks old. He is doing great at litter training. But I have one problem.
He bites when he is out and playing. He doesn't bite to be mean at all,
nor is he scared. It is a wrestling/play biting. It is doesn't hurt. But
I can't get him to stop. I have tried scuffing him, but he thinks it is
just a game and bites even more. Someone suggested to me that I scuff him
and kind of drag him on the floor while making a hissing sound like mother
ferrets do. But that doesn't work either. He thinks that is a game too
and becomes more excited and bitey. I put him back in his cage for a
timeout. But he doesn't care. I have tried spraying bitter apple on my
hands but he doesn't even noticed.

Does any one have any suggestions on how to stop him? I give him treats
when he is good. But nothing will stop him from biting. He is getting
bigger and his playing is getting rougher.

Thanks for any help.
