Greetings all!

-----Ferret Friends Disaster Response International Report---

Ferret Hollow Shelter in Long Branch, NJ needs your assistance! On
February 8th, Rick and Denise Jackson, the shelter directors, were alerted
by a neighbor that a fire was burning at the rubber mat factory behind
their home. Thanks to their evacuation plan, Rick, Denise, thirty-four
ferrets, three cats, and one dog were able to reach safety. While their
home thankfully survived the nearby blaze, they are faced with an enormous
cleanup job as well as the task of replacing damaged or destroyed supplies.

If you would like to assist, please send bedding or cleaning supplies to:

FFDRI will be sending out ferret bedding and other materials from the
FFDRI supplies. Unfortunately, we do not store cleaning supplies in the
warehouse (as they tend to be to be toxic), so we urge local people to
help provide these materials. Please understand that this is a disaster
involving ferrets, and your help is needed here.

Rick and Denises' experience should serve as a reminder to us all that it
is essential to have an evacuation plan, whether you one one ferret or one
hundred. Without a plan, they would surely have suffered tragic losses.

Best wishes and happy ferreting!
