I'll admit I haven't read every line of the past couple of FML's so if
this has been mentioned as part of the debate I apologize.
Other than ensuring several weeks apart I didn't used to agonize about
vaccinating. Then I started learning more (the anthrax vaccine thing has
been a huge eye opener) so I am no longer in the all vaccinations all the
time camp now.
However - distemper is not negotiable. Its too contagious, its everywhere
all the time and its deadly. But how bout this - after the initial series
and booster - do a titer test. I know the problem is that when you do the
titer test things may be fine and the ferret protected - but you won't know
when that changes exactly. But for ferrets who have had reactions it may
help limit the number/frequency of distemper shots and still provide more
protection than no shots at all. ??
Mary
"For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts;
even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other;
yea they have all one breath;
so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast:
for all is vanity. "
