[Moderator's note: Several people have forwarded this to me or to the
list. I'll eliminate posts which are essentially duplicates, but some
have additional comments -- I'll post those, perhaps without the original
plea itself. BIG]
Hi All,
If anyone can help please do.
Thanks,
Steve

THIS IS A DESPERATE PLEA FOR HELP. TheFerret and Reptile Rescue Shelter
in Layton, Utah, had all of its ferretsunexpectedly and unfairly seized on
Friday, Sept. 7, 2001 by the Davis CountyAnimal Control. We need to find
newhomes for 255 ferrets -- some of who are special needs animals-- by
Sept. 14, or else Davis County Animal Control will euthanize them. The
homes must be located in a ferret-friendly zone, and the newguardians must
be people for whom a ferret(s) would be an appropriate pet. Also, we need
assistance in finding a new space and in caring for the ferrets, due to
limited hours kept by the DavisCounty Shelter. This entails many tasks,
from researching laws to cleaning litter boxes. Lastly, we are interested
in hiring anexperienced civil rights lawyer for further actions. PLEASE
call us at (801) 497-9792 if you have any advice, etc, and please let
everyone you can know about our overwhelming situation. THANK YOU.
Absolute permission & encouragement to crosspost.
