David, The only one who can give you an actual estimate is the vet you
intend to go to for the surgery, and then it will likely vary depending
on which gland is involved (the right side is typically more difficult to
remove), whether both glands are involved, and whether there is other
pathology found at the time of surgery.  (For instance, it is not unusual
to find pancreatic tumors at the same time).  Complications would cost more
too.  I know this doesn't help much, sorry.  Maybe ask your vet the most
she has ever charged for a ferret surgery and save more than she quotes.
At least then, you'll likely have saved more than enough.  I saved 1200.00
for a specialist surgeon to work on WWW (I worked extra shifts to do this)
and the surgery turned out not to be necessary.  That money came in handy
later though, as Brutus has had both adrenals done in 2000 and this year
had an insulinoma removed...and I still have half the money left for the
next emergency.  You're very wise to save now.  Good for you!
