Well, it's unusual for a kit to be a reactor since more exposures usually
are needed first, but six month old Sherman reacted to his final shot of
Galaxy today about an hour after getting it. It wasn't a bad reaction,
only vomiting, paleness, and his mouth was very cool (kisses) though his
core temp was fine so he was controlled only with steroids and a long vet
wait afterward. He's home now and just drank a bit with some difficulty
(Throat probably still up.)
We'll be glad when the Merial recombitek vaccine is finally released for
general use since the reaction rate is vastly reduced. Have two reactors
in the household now -- 4 year old Jumpstart to Fervac, and 6 month old
Sherman to Galaxy.
A little boy (2 going on 3) at the hospital decided that Sherman's problem
must be caused by his missing tail and gave him a kiss. It was amazing the
boy to know that the doctors could give Sherman a shot that would make him
feel better.
