Help! I live in the Toronto, Ontario area and have just received word
today that ferrets are about to be banned in the city of Brampton
(a city just northwest of here. The reason is that a man was found
strangled in his house about 3 weeks ago by his 20 foot boa constrictor.
This new legislation is meant to ban ownership of such dangerous animals
as lions, tigers, bears, crocodiles, tarantulas and farm animals such as
horses, goats, etc. They have have also included ferrets in the list.

Can anyone who has faced this kind of situation, please contact me to
let me know what info I can give to the Brampton residents who own
ferrets? I work with several and I own a ferret as well. I can't figure
out how the Brampton city counsel made the quantum leap from boa
constrictors to ferrets.

There is a public meeting at the local city hall to discuss this issue.

Thanx
