I have heard that lower protein and less fat is better for older ferrets.
One of my females got a serious kidney infection months ago and I
attributed this to a diet too high in protein. The diet I was feeding her
changed the ingredients and I did not realize it at first. It went from I
think 36% to 40%. Now I feed Eukanuba adult, Maxicat and Iams. All Cat
foods. I wish there was some great ferret food, But all seem to have a
lot of corn even the better brands.  My babies have tried everything;
Marshalls, 8&1, TF, Shepard & Green. All of them are over three, the ages
are 5, 4, 3, 3. They run free so I have to have a food they can all eat.
They do not like Shepard & Green for older ferrets? I also feed Eukanuba
weight control formula to my 3 year old, almost 3lb female. She will
only eat duck soup (her food soaked in water mixed with babyfood). Any
suggestions. This food issue drives me nuts! I want what is best for
them. They also tend to like a variety and two of them enjoy switching
foods frequently, particularly after they have had an illness>

Thanks,
Kelly
