Hi to everyone! My prayers are with all of you that have recently lost or
have sick ferrets.

My first post just a week or so ago was about my little girl Farrah. She
is a healthy happy girl now. Thanks to all of you that contacted me about
her.

I have owned ferrets on and off for the last 5 years. I had two that I
had to give up due to a military move. Once we got settled and found out
I could have had them here after all it was too late and my heart and my
human kids (15 and 12) hearts were broken. From then on we searched the
papers looking for people giving up their ferrets. I finally found a lady
with two ferrets, male and female, she inisted they not be separated, which
was even better. They were the same age about 1 year. That was Farrah (a
dainty, DEW) and Weasel (big boy and a sable). She didnt use a cage for
them and fed them cheap cat food. So we went to the local Petsmart and
bought the biggest cage we could find and lots of ferret food, with a
couple of bags of cheap cat food, till they got used to the good stuff.

That was about 6 months ago. Then about a week before Christmas, hubby and
I saw a sign outside a local owned pet store advertising ferrets. So, we
left with Jingles (a light colored sable mitt?) He has always loved giving
kisses. He was 7 weeks old then. I knew he was too young, but thought he
needed me..lol.

Then a few weeks later, I went back to check out their food, ect. and
found Chisai (Japanese for small) they said he was 7 weeks (but he was half
the size Jingles was when we got him). Later one of the clerks told me he
was only 4 weeks old and a liked to bite. And as soon as he climbed up to
my face and gave a kiss then proceded to climb into my purse and curl up
and go to sleep. So, obviously I had to have him too. I do believe that
he was 4 weeks just from looking at his teeth. He has bitten a few times,
but he is a baby and we expected it since he is teething. Well, I guess
this is enough for now. Sorry the post is so long, I certainly didn't
mean it to be.

P.S. I haven't been here long, but find it sad we all can't get along for
the sake of these lovable fur ball. Congratulations! Shame on you! You
have driven off the best source of ferret information, Dr. Williams. He
is really needed on these type of lists. Or at least I needed him.
