This ferret mom is tattooed as well, various celtic stuff including a
ferret that I reworked from an otter design. The day Cully passed away I
worked on the design like a woman possessed, and then once I could afford
it I had the design tattooed on my right upper arm. Physically it
resembles Cully, though color-wise it is more like Amelia. One of these
days I'll get around to taking photos (b/c of the emotional significance
I'm not really willing to share this design, I have to say though). If
I move my muscles just right, I can get the ferret to wiggle his front
paws :-)

Here's an obscure ferret sighting: the new movie Shadow of the Vampire,
with John Malkovitch and Willem DaFoe, features a brief appearance by a
fat and sassy sable. Unfortunately, he's a snack for the vampire, but
happily they don't show that part, and the ferret just lazes around in a
wicker cage and looks cute for his screen time. The movie is excellent,
btw, especially for old film buffs-- it's about the making of Murnau's
Nosferatu, only it starts from the premise that Murnau had found a real
vampire to play his nosferatu. Funny how it didn't bother me at all to
see the vampire eating people, but it would have bothered me no end to see
him eat the ferret!

And just when you thought as though
All your tears were wept and done
Sorrow's child grieves not what has passed
But all the past still yet to come
