yesterday an artist from New York came to visit the fine arts department at
waterloo, canada and gave a talk.  afterwards, she joined my class for
critiques.  she asked me what I paint and I said ferrets.  then she start
talking about how mayor giuliani was being unfair to ferrets in new york
and such.  she doesn't know ferrets, but does love dogs and cats.  anyway,
good to know that not only ferret people think the treatment of ferret is
unfair.
 
by the way, her name is Susanna Heller, and she has a painting 'specially
painted for mayor Giuliani.  it reflects her view on the mayor.  it is
called "shit happens".
