I got a call from the Bloomfield, NJ Animal Shelter on Monday. They will
be having a Pet Expo. (their first annual one) this Sunday, February 25th,
and were looking for a "ferret person" to come. I volunteered myself and
a ferret or two ... and I believe a few other people from NJFerrets list
on yahoogroups will be attending, too.

If more of you would like to come, though, I'm sure we would be happy to
have you! The event is from noon to 4 pm at the Elks Club on Bloomfield
Avenue in Bloomfield. (I have directions; if you need them, please just
email me!)

The flier for the event says "The Expo. is intended to be educational -
to answer those 'Why Does ...' and 'How Come' questions. Vendors
participation is limited to pet care specialists but not limited to cats
and dogs. Among those scheduled to participate are veterinarians, an
iguana specialist, a Professor of Herpetology, dog trainers, groomers, pet
sitter, the House Rabbit Society, and representatives from the pet care
industry".

Admission is $5 at the door. (Of course, if you are coming to help at the
"ferret table", they won't charge you!) Proceeds will go to benefit the
shelter.

I have a few handouts to pass out already ... one from the Modern Ferret
Website (10 tips for ferret owners), and one from Metroferret, on litter
training. If anyone has another one in electronic format that I could
print, or could point me to one on the Web that I could use, I would be
grateful.

Thanks!

- Ela
