Too many people make the mistake of getting a ferret without doing any
investigative work before hand. You really have to be a special type of
person to give a ferret all the love and care that it needs. They are not
just a cute possession that you get for a while, tire of and then get rid
of. So? You bought him and cage and toys and whatever, and now you try to
sell him and get some of your money back...I say..that is life, may be cost
you for your mistake, perhaps you've learned a lesson. Try to find a good
home for your ferret and GIVE him to the new owners. Sometimes I think the
new owners should be PAID for giving your baby a new home.

I keep pictures of my 4 babies on my wall at work. It's called ferret
awareness. But everytime someone starts taking about "oh how cute, I
think I'll get one" I sit them down and find out the whys and wherefores.
Usually they want a ferret for all the wrong reasons. It is better to talk
an unknowing person out of ferret owning, they to assist in their making
a big mistake. Ferrets are a life time commitment...their life time.
Ferrets make wonderful pets, if you are educated enough about them before
bringing one into your home. I know...I have had ferrets since 1984 and
could never live without them.

I only wish that people would think before becoming a ferret owner, educate
yourself, visit someone who has ferrets, see how you have to ferret-proof
your house, realize that you will have many vet bills as ferrets have some
unique ailments. Then and only then become a ferret owner and enjoy the
wonders of ferretude.
