Birch, though the smallest of all my fuzzies, could jump the highest (26").
so when we cut wooden barricades for our doors, we cut them at 28" high.
for a while we were fine, then my roommate Ina picked up her 6th ferret
Moss.

the first time he jumped my door barricade was when he climbed into my room
(table on the outside), and my ferrets, who really don't like him, chased
him around the room a couple of times and he took a running leap out.
after a while, he took to coming into my room, teasing my ferrets, and then
jumping out. but that was still the only barricade he knows he can jump
over. then by some fluke he jumped over one of the ones into the kitchen.
we blocked that. this morning, Ina got a call from a friend staying with
us asking if she could shut Moss up 'cause she was getting bitten. I guess
he realized he can jump out of her room now...

what's the highest anybody's ferret can jump? we just cut new barriers a
few days before at 30", will that be enough? where can one buy stilts?

quoting my roommate:
Isn't it nice to know that our mostly free-range lifestyle does make
   the ferrets fitter and healthier?
