Heres my take on Cheweasles...
 
I have yet to meet a ferret that does not love them!
 
They can get sticky and gross if a ferret chews them, then puts them in a
hidey hole for later retrieval.  I've yet to see a ferret get sticky and
gross from them though.
 
Too much can give the green apple splatters (diarrhoea (sp?)).
 
For the above two reasons (and because they are *very* expensive to import
to NZ), I cut the cheweasles into smaller pieces and issue these as treats.
I usually cut the "points" off, then cut the remainder into quarters.
 
Works for me and absolutely no mess!
