(I'm cross posting to the FLC and FML.) This is so hard for me to believe!
Can they really survive the heat and cold here?

A guy at work said they have ferrets living in his neighborhood outside on
their own. (I'm thinking yah, right!) Evidently a family was moving to CA
and decided to just let their ferrets lose, knowing they were illegal in
CA, instead of finding a home or shelter for them. This was a few years
ago. There were once 3, now 2, but they were whole because there are more
now. (I'm still thinking yah, right whole ferrets.) He said that they
have no mice, rats or snakes around so the neighborhood didn't mind the
ferrets living there.

But today when he told me: The city (Keller) was putting in new drainage
right through where the ferrets were living, but thankfully, they
relocated them instead of killing them. So it must be true.

Does anyone live in Keller that has heard of this? I still can't believe
it and I have not seen them to say, yes, those are ferrets. Do you think
if they could catch them would anyone ever be able to tame them after
living and being born in the wild?
