What you need is a tube of styptic powder. There are a number of brand
names including Kwik-Stop, and you can usually buy it from your vet, or
you can get it from http://theferretstore.com. Really, one should never
try to trim nails without having styptic powder on hand because you can
get some very serious bleeding if your ferret jumps just as you clip.
