The Seminole County Health Department has issued a rabies alert for
residents of the county. According to health officials, 4 animals have
tested positive for rabies since 14 Jan 2001, including 2 raccoons, a
fox and a horse.

The health department has issued the following guideline:

Every dog, cat and ferret must be vaccinated against rabies and pets
must also be kept on a leash or in a fenced yard....

The alert will remain in effect for 60 days, unless otherwise changed by
the health department. ....
