I recently had a very sad surrender of two ferrets from a man who lives
in Wilmington, Delaware. He is going through a divorce and adores his
ferrets. He is a Merchant Marine and travels for long periods of time,
and felt that his only option was to surrender his ferrets - his wife, who
usually took care of them while he was away, refuses to help now. When I
met him and fully understood his situation, I told him that surrendering
may not be his only option - if he could find other ferret owners in the
Wilmington area, perhaps he could work out some sort of arrangement for
when he had to travel. He has since asked me if I could help him locate
other local ferret owners. I would not have offered this alternative to
him had I not been convinced that the ferrets staying with him was the best
solution - he is an excellent ferret owner, has fed only the best foods,
gotten all required medical care, the whole nine yards. And he was
extremely distraught to have to leave my place without his babies.

Anyone out there that might be able to help, please let me know.

Thanks in advance,
