Hi everyone!!

I read in the newspaper last week that raisins can cause cancer on the
kidneys and the urinary system on small animals.

There's a substance in raisins called "ochratoxin A", wich is some kind of
mould. It is toxic, so give your ferrets something else!!

I've stopped giving my ferrets raisins and I'm giving them other dried
fruit instead, like pineapple, papaya, and banana.

I guess that the cancer won't pop up after giving them one raisin, but
under a long period of time, I guess that the ferrets can develop cancer.
There4s a much higer concentration of ochratoxin A in a ferret than in a
human if it eats raisins, because it4s smaller.

Of 59 different tests, 52 contained ochratoxin A!!

Fuzzy hugs to all,

-Sophie

ps. All who's allergic, wait for Xolair!! It is said to stop all
allergies from pollen to cats! It's under development, and the EU is
going to approve it in March, probably.
