I just sent another question about my 2 ferrets who are entering their 3nd
week of ECE; one has stopped eating; I was asking if I should treat him for
ulcers. I'm writing now to follow that up.
Just spoke to my local vet. He likes ferrets but doesnt see a lot of them
in this ferret-poor region. He doesn't think Ramone has an ulcer - what i
describe isn't teeth grinding, etc.
He wanted me to ask you a question. He wonders if anyone uses cortisone
or Tilan powder in cases of ECE. He says he has used both for cats &
dogs with colitis, and thinks they could also be used with ECE (which he
described as a virus-induced colitis), both to reduce inflammation &
stimulate appetite. He said he thought a shot of cortisone once a week til
we are thru this might be a good idea. He also asked about Flagyl for ECE.
So - I would appreciate hearing what you think about this.
Thanks once again,
Sharin
