It may be time for a sad but important reminder: a necropsy with pathology
by a veterinary pathologist who is experiences with ferrets not only can
answer questions and thus made you feel better, but it can teach vets so
that variations are better known later, and it can help catch and show how
to treat a contagion or a poison or something else that might hurt or kill
others before it can do further harm.  Mystery deaths need this final step
when possible.
